In cases when the team leader decides that a team member does not fulfill the requirements of the team for some reason, he or she may start a team "vote out" against the team member. A vote out will cost the team leader $3.000.000 to initiate, and an additional $1.000.000 will be paid by each team member who participates in the vote out (including the team leader). When at least 8 team members have participated in the vote out it is considered successful and the team leader will be given the right to kick out the voted out manager from the team. Profile Questions
My name is wrong but it won’t change when I update it in my profile. Why?
Once your account has been approved changing your name won't have any effect on your in game name, and the same with changing your country. It is recommended to use only your first and last name (no middle names) although this is not a requirement. However accounts with fake names will not be approved by the administrator. Both Name & Country can be changed (corrected) by request to the game admins.
I can’t upload my picture, is it a bug?
If you try to upload a picture that is bigger than 30KB then you will get an error. You need to resize your picture. If you are unsure how to resize your picture feel free to contact member of the Graphics Crew Florencia Caro for help.
How long will my picture take to be authorised
Your profile picture will be authorised as soon as a member of the Graphics Crew is available to review it and either accept or reject it. This may be anything from a few minutes to a few hours, or in extreme examples a couple of days.
How can I get my Account Reset?
There is no real point in having your whole account reset, as in rookie at the end of the season everything gets reset anyway. If you are totally desperate to reset now, then if you are very new to the game, not racing for a few races will get your account 'suspended' and then you could re-apply again, however by doing this you lose out on collecting data and experimenting. Better to just fight your way through the 'pain' and gather some data, than just start over and miss out. In he ultimate case these reasons are not good enough and you are under 17 races old, being between race 3 and 14 in the current season, you can do a soft reset here, under Reset or Delete Account tab.
How can I get my Account Permanently Deleted?
This option is only available to EU Citizens after providing hard proof of their citizenship. For more info please contact an admin.
Driver Questions
I want to renew my driver’s contract, how do I do it?
You can renew a contract at anytime if the driver’s overall is below the group limit. You will pay the signing fee immediately, you won’t pay the new salary until the completion of the current contract. To renew, select the Driver Contract link on the main GPRO Office page.
I have renewed my driver’s contract, but the races left value hasn’t changed, Why?
Your driver will complete his existing contract with you then start the new one with you, the races left value will change then. Don’t worry, if he has agreed terms with you, you won’t lose him unless you relegate to a lower group and the driver overall is greater than that allowed for the group you are relegating to. The contract extension will appear in the office like this: Races Left: 8 (+17). However it will not appear on any other pages except the driver contract page.
My driver is over the group overall limit but I want to renew him, how?
You can’t, in future if you plan ahead its possible to renew the driver’s contract for a further 17 races as soon as you get him, then you can keep him for at least 34 Races.
My driver is missing, where did my driver go?
Either his contract ran out – you will have to sign a new one! Or you have been relegated and the Overall of your driver was too high for your new group.
I made a driver offer yesterday, when will he decide?
Staff Decisions are made at set times, usually at 19:00CET on Mondays & Thursdays (see also Staff Markets)
I signed my driver at the start of the season, but his contract expires after race 17. Will I be able to renew his contract if I promote?
No. Your driver's contract expires after race 17, meaning he will leave you immediately after the last race and return to the market. The only way you can renew your driver contract is if he is below the OA restriction for your level.
How do I reduce my driver's OA?
You have many options available to you.
One extreme way to achieve this is by going -$15mil to completely wipe his motivation. This is a quick and effective way to reduce driver OA - but please don't ignore the disadvantages of such a manoeuvre. Going negative has many downfalls, and should be fully considered before doing this. In the majority of cases you may be better advised to simply let your existing driver leave, keep your money, and sign a replacement after your current contract expires.
Other options to drop driver OA might include sandbagging to achieve bad results (not advised at Rookie), or possibly certain training options.
Can I cancel my current driver's contract?
You can't simply cancel it - but you can replace them with a new driver if you wish.
Make an offer to a new driver on the market, and if they accept, then they will replace your current driver after the next staff market decision. However, you will have to pay the replaced driver compensation equal to half their salary, for however many races were left on their current contract (e.g. 6 races left with a $1mil salary = $3mil compensation).
Technical Director Questions
I can’t renew my Technical Director’s contract, why?
It is not possible to renew a Technical Director’s contract in GPRO. This allows for a more competitive Technical Directors market.
My Technical Director has disappeared, and he had races left in his contract, why?
The rules state that a Technical Director will leave you if your current money is less that -$15,000,000 as you can’t afford to pay him and he won’t work for free. Or you have been relegated to a group that doesn’t allow Technical Directors.
I can’t offer a contract to a Technical Director, why?
The only reasons for this are:
- You are not in the right group, Technical Directors are available to Elite, Master and Pro groups only.
- You cannot afford a Technical Director.
If I go below -$15,000,000 will my Technical Director leave immediately or will he wait to see whether I will be over negative 15M after the race?
He will leave before the race.
Car Questions
Why can I never finish a race / Why is my car always smoking? / Why is my part wear so high?
This is one of the most common questions asked by new GPRO players - and in 99% of these situations, the answer is LOWER YOUR RACE RISKS!
The Game rules state that risks of just 40 should be considered VERY HIGH for rookies - therefore it is recommended that you race with zero risks whenever possible, as this will lengthen the life of your car parts, meaning you will spend less money.
The majority of car parts should be able to last 3 races minimum.
Why can’t I update my car?
You can't update your car due to one of the following reasons:
- You have already updated your car which can only be done once before each race. See Update Car for more information.
- If you are in debt you are not allowed to update your car, you can still downgrade parts. See The disadvantages of being in debt for more information.
- You have missed the deadline for the next race, which is 1.5 hours before the advertised race start.
All my parts are worn, I am in debt and can’t update, what do I do?
DON’T PANIC! You need to slow down and learn to control the wear of your car parts, try looking at driver risks. Try to finish races so you can make more money to update the car. You can still downgrade parts however. Think very carefully about what you spend your money on. *Hint - In rookie even risks of 40 are considered very high.
Is it ok to update the car after Practice/Qualify?
Yes the upgrade will still work, but you should consider that if you change parts after practice / qualify you are likely to affect the setup you have for the race.
How much does a part cost for each level?
This you will have to find out for yourself, parts which have more effect on the car performance cost more. So a level 2 engine will cost more than a level 2 front wing.
What do P, H and A stand for?
These are the Power, Handling and Acceleration attributes of the car according to the part levels you have and any test points you have gained.
What do the letters P, A, H and B mean next to car type in the Money account balances and car levels screen?
This is the overall character of the car, P is Power, A is Acceleration, H is Handling and B is Balanced
Does P, H and A matter?
Look at the track statistics, for example, a car with an overall character of Power will go faster at a track which favours Power.
Staff & Facilities Questions
I am not in debt but I can’t train my staff, why?
This happens when the skill level of your staff is higher than the trainable skill level as a result of your facilities. To train your staff you will need to upgrade the facilities.
Testing Questions
Why should I do testing?
You don’t have to but it is a good way to learn about the game, also testing brings improvements to your car and staff.
Does the test track ever change?
Usually a new test track is selected at the start of the season, and then the track is used for the whole season.
How does testing improve the car?
You will notice there are different types of testing, each works on a certain characteristic of the car – Power, Handling or Acceleration, others work on all characteristics. The laps of testing you carry out generate Test points. After the race these are converted to the next stage (R&D), then after another race engineering points and finally to Character points which are added to the cars existing PHA values. Note that Testing does wear the car.
It won’t let me test, is this a bug?
If you are in debt you cannot test, also if any part of the car is over 90% worn the game will not allow you to test, you will need to update your car first.
How do I work out how much fuel I used in a test stint?
Before you did the stint you said the fuel level you wanted in the car, after the stint the fuel amount left is shown along with tyre wear and lap times.
Why doesn’t my driver give me feedback in testing?
The only time a driver will provide feedback in testing is when you select the testing type as setup tuning.
Track Information Questions
The time in/out of pits for the track is 16.5 seconds, is that in and out together, or 16.5 seconds in and 16.5 seconds out?
This is the total time to navigate the pit lane in and out together.
Practice Questions
How do I get started?
The practice screen allows you 8 laps to find a setup for your driver/car combinations for the current track. Enter some settings, say 500 in each box and see how your driver responds and adjust your settings according to what the driver says.
What do the settings mean when practicing?
On the practice screen you can hover your mouse over the blue “?” to get information on the settings for that specific part, in summary however:
- Wings - a higher value gives a higher downforce level on the car.
- Engine - a higher value favours top speed over acceleration.
- Brakes - a higher value moves braking toward the front.
- Gear - a higher gear value increases top speed but reduces acceleration.
- Suspension - a higher value increases the stiffness of the suspension.
My driver is happy with the setup but I am still very slow.
There are many reasons why you are slow, the car, driver, even the weather affect setup, and the even if the driver is happy with the setup it may not necessarily be the quickest possible setup. Try fine tuning your setup to see if you can make it quicker.
What tyres can I use in practice?
You can use whatever tyres you like in practice.
My practice times are much slower than the times that people are setting in qualifying, what should I do?
Many parameters affect your pace, it could be car levels or something else, like your opponents were lucky with high risks in qualifying.
Qualifying Questions
What tyres should I use in Qualifying?
This depends on a number of factors, and is a decision that you will have to make yourself from analysing your past data.
The tyres you select to use in qualifying are the tyres you will use in the race. You should select the tyres you think will give you the best strategy, Tyres wear in the race, when they are worn you will slow down. Select your tyres wisely.
If I select rain tyres am I stuck with them?
No, if you select Wets you will also be asked to also select a dry tyre compound.
How long will the tyres last?
Tyre wear is dependant on the track you are racing at and the temperature, other things also affect tyre wear; but you can find this out for yourself. It is important to note how long the tyres last so you can use the data in the future.
How much fuel do I need?
The fuel you enter for Qualify 2 is the fuel load you will start the race with for the first stint, and that would depend on your strategy. This is one area of the game that you need to experiment with, you will never retire from the race for running out of fuel, whenever your fuel is low the driver will automatically pit. So put in a lot of fuel and see how much you actually used after the race in the race analysis screen. Then you will get a good idea about how much fuel you need, it is unlikely that any race should exceed 280L of fuel.
I have the same total qualifying time as another manager, why I am behind them on the grid?
It happens quite regularly that two managers have the exact same qualifying time, and once to twice a season it is the pole position car that is involved in this. If the total for Q1 & Q2 combined is identical, then the manager that was the FIRST to complete Q1 will be ahead on the grid.
Race Setup Questions
I can’t make any changes to my setup but the race isn’t for another hour. Why is that?
The race setup page is locked 1 hour and 30 minutes before the start of the live race so the game script can do some calculations for the race.
On the weather forecast what does the time 0h – 0h30m and so forth represent?
This time is based upon the race lap time. For example, with an average lap time of 1:30.000 the driver will cover 20 laps in that 30 minutes period.
Live Race Questions
When I watch the live race it doesn’t automatically update the page. Is this a bug?
No, it’s not a bug. This can happen when using Internet Explorer. To fix this problem you need to change some settings in Internet Explorer. From the Tools menu select Internet Options. Under the General tab in the Temporary Internet Files section there is a button Settings, select this then set the “check for newer versions of stored pages” to “Every visit to the page”.
When can I watch the race?
The race can be seen live on Tuesdays and Fridays from 20:00 CET, 30 minutes before the race starts a button linking you to the Live Race will appear on the main office page on the place of the counter to the next race.
In the Live Race screen / Race Replay there is a number next to the Yellow Bar - Fuel Left that says something like ~24% what does this represent?
This is an approximate value for what fuel is left in the car, this is decreased by a value of 3 on each change. Therefore your fuel left would be between 24% and 27%.
Why can't I change my strategy during the live race?
Not everyone can be online whilst the race is running, and it would cause too much of an advantage to those watching the race if strategy could be updated live. As this is a global game we must allow for everyone to have the same chances when it comes to strategy. Also the live race is in effect a replay as the race itself is calculated in the time between the qualification ending and the 'live' race starting.
My Fuel & tyres are both fine, why did I just pit?
It is most likely a technical problem either car part wear related or random. You will get details after the race in the Race Analysis screen.
Race Analysis Questions
In Race Analysis it stated fuel left at the end of the stint was 20%. 20% of what exactly?
The fuel left value is the % of the tanks total capacity, the total fuel capacity is 180L. For Example, 20% left. 180/100 = 1.8. 1.8 X 20 = 36Litres
I pitted after 4 laps, yet had more fuel in the tank than I asked the pit crew to add. How can the crew take fuel out of the car? Is this a bug?
No, your car will leave the pits with the amount of fuel already in the tank, the crew will not take fuel out of the car.
Sponsor Questions
I am negotiating with 5 sponsors and it is taking forever, there is something wrong with sponsors!
Your commercial team are spending too much time with too many sponsors, try concentrating on 1 or 2 sponsors and see what happens.
Why have I lost my sponsor?
Maybe you lied to them when negotiating with them and/or did not deliver the expected results. Be careful when replying the questions you are asked during the negotiation.
My sponsor has asked me a question, how do I answer it?
That's up to you, but remember, if you lie to your sponsors may get unhappy and not fulfil the contract.
Teams Questions
The total winnings will be shared equally among team members.
How do I kick out an inactive team member?
A team leader may kick out another member of the team only after they have missed 4 consecutive races. This can be achieved by navigating to the Team Profile page, and clicking the red cross that appears alongside their name.
If at any time during the season you miss 4 consecutive races then for every next race you miss you will be moved one spot down in your team. This applies both to team leaders and normal members of the team and does not depend on the group you are racing in. For example if you are at spot #4 in the team and you miss 6 races in a row you will be automatically moved to spot #6, as a result the manager who previously had spot #5 will now have spot #4 and the manager that was in spot #6 will now be in spot #5.
Is it possible to remove a team member by force?
In cases when the team leader decides that a team member does not fulfill the requirements of the team for some reason, he or she may start a team "vote out" against the team member. A vote out will cost the team leader $3.000.000 to initiate, and an additional $1.000.000 will be paid by each team member who participates in the vote out (including the team leader). When at least 8 team members have participated in the vote out it is considered successful and the team leader will be given the right to kick out the voted out manager from the team. A team vote out spans over two weeks time from the day it was initiated and only one team member can be voted out at any time.
Why can't I change my team's name?
Team names can be changed only before the first race of the season. This is also the case where any manager takes over a liquidated team.
Group Standings & Promotion
When is the promotion / relegation calculated, is it before or after all prize money is awarded?
The promotion / relegation is calculated after the bonus for top 10 finishing position is paid after the last race of the season and BEFORE prize money for scored points, team money and bonus for driving all races in the season is paid. It is better to plan for promotion and make sure you have some money to further improve your car, it wouldn’t be a good idea to promote with very little money.

The Forums
What does "FOBY" mean?
FOBY is an acronym for "Find Out By Yourself".
You might at first think this is offensive (and GPRO crew members will frown on people who use it exclusively with no explanation), but basically GPRO is a game that requires a lot of your own data analysis. You will find answers to certain questions within the Rules, FAQs, Newbie Guide, and here - but anything else (e.g. Fuel consumption, Tyre wear, Which driver stats are most important, etc) will need to be investigated by analysing your own data to draw your own conclusions.
How do I search the Forums?
Access the forums using the button labelled "Forum" at the top of the page, then select the Search link (https://www.gpro.net/forum/Search.asp). Here you will see options to perform a search of the forum, you can search by Author, or by specified word(s). NOTE: the default option is to search Topic Titles only, you can search the whole forum by selecting the Entire posts option.
Why do moderators close my discussions?
Your discussion was probably closed because a very similar thread already exists (which isn't closed), therefore you should try to keep the discussion all in one thread instead of regurgitating the same discussion over and over.
If we don't close threads and point to a "master" thread - then we will soon have 50 threads all about the exact same topics. The forums become cluttered and messy VERY quickly - meaning it then becomes almost impossible to find the decent threads about certain subjects (instead of reading one thread - you have to read 50). Therefore if a similar thread already exists, we would prefer you to "bump" the older thread with your new input.
I would like to use Italics, Bold and Underlined in the forums, is it possible?

Can I quote another post in the forum?
Yes, simply select the text with the mouse that you wish to quote and hit Quote next to the post you are quoting from. The quoted text will appear in the Reply to this topic text box at the bottom of the thread, you will notice it is enclosed in a quote tag ([quote] text [/quote])
What are the Eyeballs at the bottom of the page in a forum thread?
If you click the Eyeballs the topic you are currently reading will be added to your watchlist (https://www.gpro.net/forum/WatchList.asp), the topic will then appear in the forum window on the main page.
How do I change my watchlist?
Go to https://www.gpro.net/forum/WatchList.asp where you can edit your personal forum topics watchlist. This link can be accessed by going to the main forum page.
What is the red symbol at the bottom of the page in a forum thread?
If you click the symbol you are choosing to ignore the current thread, it will not show in your main office page forum window.

I click the chat button but chat won't load.
You need to have Java installed on your machine and allow the chat applet to load.
